Scouring the deserts and highlands of present and future terrorists in the troubled, war-torn region that comprises Yemen, the Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Kenya, and Somalia demands urgent, skillful, measures that are as much social, economic, and political as they must be military. Several WPF publications tackle the subject of terrorism in this dangerous, often-forgotten region.

Battling Terrorism in the Horn of Africa (click here for more information and to order)
This new book, edited by World Peace Foundation President Robert I. Rotberg, is a handbook on what needs to be done at the tension-filled crossroads of Arabia and Africa. Separate chapters by regional experts analyze each country individually and as part of a larger region, revealing what each country is (or isn't) doing to stop the spread of terrorism.
Contributors include Robert D. Burrowes (University of Washington), Timothy Carney (former U.S. ambassador to Sudan), Johnnie Carson (former ambassador to Kenya), Dan Connell (Grassroots International), Kenneth J. Menkhaus (Davidson College),  Lange Schermerhorn (former ambassador to Djibouti), and David Shinn (former ambassador to Ethiopia).
